The OConnor Ultimate 1040 is a fluid head on a carbon fibre Flowtech 100 tripod, a fast and light support for professional cinema cameras. It pairs OConnor's smooth fluid drag with legs that set up quickly.
The head uses OConnor's sinusoidal counterbalance, so the camera stays balanced at any point in the tilt range, and the counterbalance goes down to zero for lighter payloads. Pan and tilt drag is stepless and continuous, which gives operators fine control on slow moves. The Flowtech 100 legs have quick release brakes and rubber feet, so the tripod goes up and comes down fast without losing stability.
The 1040 head takes 23.5kg (52lb) with the centre of gravity 4 inches above the head, falling to 14.5kg (32lb) at 8 inches, and tilts through plus and minus 90 degrees. The head weighs 4.8kg. The Flowtech 100 tripod weighs 3.2kg, stands from 26cm to 153cm without a spreader and has a 100mm bowl. It is rated to 30kg.
