Insurance

Our booking team can talk you through insurance. The short version:

  • You will need hired-in equipment insurance cover to be able to take kit away.

Providing insurance from elsewhere

If your production company has an annual policy, send it to us and we will check it. If not, one off cover for a shoot is quick and inexpensive. We recommend Performance Film and Media Insurance (Aston Lark).

We need to see hired-in equipment cover. Public and employer liability, producers indemnity and own contents cover are for your own production needs.

Three things to check when buying cover

We see a lot of policies. These are the common mistakes:
1. The name and address on the policy must be the hirer. Company, charity or just you, the policy carries the hirer’s name and address, not a production title or a client’s name.
2. Ask us for the equipment valuation. Do not look it up online or guess. We will tell you the figure so everything is covered.
3. Cover the collection and return days, not just the shoot days. The kit must be insured the whole time it is away from us. The policy starts when you collect it or it is delivered, and ends when it is back with us.
