Sony FE 70-200mm F2.8 OSS G Master Lens (E)

The Sony FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM OSS is a constant-aperture telephoto zoom for E-mount full-frame cameras. It is the long lens in Sony's G Master trio, with optical stabilisation built in for handheld work.

The G Master optical design is built around fine resolution and smooth out-of-focus rendering, using aspherical elements including an XA (extreme aspherical) element to control aberrations. A constant f/2.8 holds through the range, and Optical SteadyShot helps when shooting handheld at the long end.

It covers 70 to 200mm at f/2.8, focuses down to 0.96m, weighs about 1.48kg and takes 77mm filters. Typical uses are interviews, events, wildlife and any coverage where you need reach and a shallow depth of field. It pairs naturally with the 16-35mm and 24-70mm GM zooms. It suits Sony FX and Alpha bodies with the E mount.
