The Apple iPad 9th generation is a 10.2 inch tablet that works well as a large monitor, a script and reference viewer or a control surface on set. The display is a Retina panel with True Tone.
It has an A13 Bionic chip and a 2160x1620 display at 264 PPI, with 500 nits of brightness. Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard both work with it, so it can also be used for notes, storyboards and call sheets. It runs apps for camera control and remote monitoring.
The front camera is a 12MP ultra wide with Center Stage, which keeps a person in frame during video calls. The rear camera is 8MP. The Wi-Fi model weighs 487g, so it is easy to carry on a cart, in a bag or on a stand, and it fits most tablet holders and clamps used on set. It works as a spare screen on a cart, and the tablet is easy to hand around the crew.
