The Focusbug Cine RT is an ultrasonic rangefinder system for focus pullers. It measures the distance to the subject and displays it, so a puller can work from real numbers instead of guesses.
The system is modular, with a camera-mounted rangefinder and a Bug and handset that work on the same 2.4 GHz radio network. The rangefinder measures from about 15cm out to roughly 12 metres, and the Bug and handset modes read out to about 36 metres. It can work with single or multiple sensors. The overlay can show distance data on compatible monitors.
The wireless link reaches up to about 240 metres in the best conditions, and the system shows its distance data in an overlay on compatible monitors and through the ARRI Hi-5. That makes it a good partner for the Hi-5 hand unit on moving shots, where a puller wants a measured distance to check against a mark.
