The Sanken COS-11D is an ultra-miniature omnidirectional lavalier microphone, widely used for concealed dialogue in film, video and theatre. This version is wired for Sennheiser wireless transmitters.
Sanken places the diaphragm vertically, which gives a large effective area in a very small capsule. The newer front mesh screen is water resistant and protects the microphone from perspiration and make-up, so the frequency response holds up in difficult conditions. That also makes it a good choice for outdoor shoots in poor weather.
The COS-11D has an omnidirectional pattern and a frequency response of 50Hz to 20kHz. The capsule is small enough to hide in clothing or hair, and it ships in a black finish with a cable that is easy to conceal. Sanken lavaliers are an industry standard and are often paired with a bodypack such as a Sennheiser transmitter and a boom microphone for backup.
