Stand - Boom Stand - Photo-R

The Photo-R Combo Boom Stand is a black anodised aluminium stand that doubles as a boom for overhead and awkward angles. A nylon counterweight bag lets it hold a light or modifier over a subject without a leg in the way.

Used as a straight stand, it has a mounting lock that lets you switch to boom mode and rotate the arm. Heavy-duty leg bracing and a wide footprint keep it stable, and a locking lever secures the extending boom arm. The counterweight bag hooks onto the other end of the arm and is filled with sand or pebbles to balance the load.

The stand goes from 1.2m folded to 4m at full height as a straight stand, and takes up to 5kg on the light stand. The boom has interchangeable 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch spigots. The counterweight bag is empty on arrival, so make sure it is filled and hooked on before loading the boom. Keep loads light and watch for tipping.
