Tiffen Black Satin 4x5.65 Filter Set

The Tiffen Black Satin is a diffusion filter that softens skin and highlights while keeping the overall image sharp. This set is in the 4x5.65 size and gives a warm, filmic glow. It works on digital and film cameras.

Black Satin reduces the appearance of wrinkles and blemishes by softening contrast and textures, and it adds a mild warming effect with fine granularity across the frame. It also creates halation around highlights, which can flatter a subject or give a chosen look, and the image stays sharp underneath.

The filters are 4x5.65 inch (Panavision size), made with Tiffen's ColorCore process on water white glass. Black Satin comes in grades of 1/8 up to 5, and the effect roughly doubles with each step. They drop into any standard 4x5.65 matte box tray, and suit beauty work, interviews and period drama. It is a good match for faces and fabrics.
