Tiffen Pro-Mist 4x4 Filter Set

The Tiffen Pro-Mist is one of the best-known diffusion filters in cinematography. It lowers contrast and softens highlights, which makes it a go-to for flattering skin and adding a gentle glow to lights. This set is in the 4x4 size.

Pro-Mist works by scattering a little light from the brightest parts of the frame, so highlights bloom while the rest of the image keeps its detail. That softens wrinkles and blemishes in close-ups without the heavy loss of sharpness you get from a traditional soft focus filter. It suits fashion, beauty and drama work on digital and film cameras alike.

The filters measure 4 x 4 inches (101.6 x 101.6mm) and are made with Tiffen's ColorCore process, with the filter material laminated between two pieces of optical glass and ground flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. They fit any matte box or filter holder that takes 4x4 glass.
