The Zeiss CP.2 set is five Compact Primes in EF mount, covering 18mm to 85mm on full frame. It is stills-grade Zeiss glass in a cine housing, giving Zeiss colour and contrast at an accessible level.
Housing dimensions and focus and iris ring positions are consistent across the set, so a matte box and follow focus stay put between lenses. T* coating keeps flare under control, and the 14-blade iris stays close to round through the aperture range. The set is dependable on shoots that do not need a larger cine set.
The lenses are the 18mm at T3.6, 25mm at T2.9, 35mm and 50mm at T2.1, and an 85mm Super Speed at T1.5. All share a 114mm front diameter, all cover full frame and all use geared focus and iris rings. The Super Speed 85mm adds aspheric and abnormal partial dispersion elements for a faster, cleaner image than a standard CP.2.
