Aputure Light Dome III

The Aputure Light Dome III is a 90cm circular softbox, a standard modifier for a Bowens-mount key light on most single-camera set-ups. It folds flat for the van and opens quickly between set-ups.

The 32-sided, 16-rod frame gives a clean round catchlight and a smooth wrap of light on faces. Steel rods hold the parabolic shape better than the previous generation, and the frame pops open fast enough that it does not slow down the schedule. It suits interviews, portraits and small drama set-ups.

The dome is about 89cm across and 60cm deep when built, and collapses to roughly 88 x 18 x 5cm. It weighs about 2.2kg and comes with 1.5 stop and 2.5 stop diffusion fabrics plus a 40 degree fabric grid for spill. It mounts to any Bowens-mount fixture, from the amaran 150c and 300c up to the Light Storm range.
