The Boom Buddy is a simple holder that supports a boom pole at a stand, so the operator does not have to hold it for a whole interview or long take. It mounts on a C-stand head or a Mafer grip.
The yoke is extra wide, so positioning the pole is easy, and the soft plastic coating protects the pole from scratches. There are no clamping jaws squeezing the pole, which avoids stress on the carbon fibre sections. It holds a standard size boom pole for hours and cuts the operator fatigue that comes with static setups such as sit-down interviews and fixed rigs.
A 3.5 inch stainless steel shaft fits securely into the grip head of a C-stand or a Mafer clamp, the pieces most crews already have on set. The holder is lightweight and small enough to pack with a sound kit without being a nuisance. It pairs with any boom pole, such as the Rode Boompole Pro, and a microphone blimp for static recording.
