Rode Boom Pole Pro (3m)

The Rode Boompole Pro is a five-section carbon fibre boom pole that reaches 3 metres and weighs 535g. It holds a microphone over the shot with no stand in frame, which is why it suits dialogue, interviews and run-and-gun work.

The carbon fibre sections keep the pole light enough to hold overhead for a full take, and the quick-release twist locks let one hand extend or collapse it between setups. That matters on a moving shoot, where the operator needs to change reach quickly without putting the pole down. It works as well on a handheld interview as it does alongside a fixed camera rig.

Packed down it measures 810mm, and fully extended it reaches 3m across its five sections. All five are carbon fibre and the whole pole weighs 535g. A standard 3/8-inch thread takes a normal shockmount or blimp, so you fit whichever shotgun microphone and cable length the job needs. Most operators pair it with a windshield, and a boom pole holder for static setups.
