Rode Blimp Windshield and Pistol Grip System

The Rode Blimp is a complete windshield and shockmount system for shotgun microphones, built on a pistol grip. It cuts handling noise and wind noise while the microphone is on a boom pole or held in hand.

This version has an improved Rycote shockmount and handle design, and it is 20% lighter than its predecessor. The adjustable dual-hoop suspension greatly reduces handling noise, and the acoustically transparent dome protects against wind. It is a practical choice for exterior dialogue, where wind and boom movement would otherwise reach the recording.

It takes any shotgun microphone up to 325mm in length, including the Rode NTG1, NTG2 and NTG3, and it attaches to a standard boom pole through a 3/8-inch thread. An optional Universal Blimp Mount removes the handle to save weight when the Blimp lives on a pole. The kit includes the Dead Wombat windshield, a caring brush and a tail cable.
